Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim received in Phnom Penh last Friday the Japanese delegation of the JC Foods Company led by its president Mr. Takei Nobuyuki.
During the meeting, President Chea Sim expressed his full support to the investment company’s activities in the agricultural field in Cambodia’s province of Battambang, especially in the rice growing and processing to be exported to abroad, according to the Senate’s protocol Chief Mrs. Pheng Kuntheaborey who briefed the reporters after the meeting.
President Chea Sim cited that the people and the government of Japan have so far made a big contribution to the national rehabilitation and development in Cambodia. Japan has not only supported Cambodia in the national development, but even in the framework of ASEAN plus Japan, Japan has strengthened and expanded the cooperation between the two countries, said Mrs. Pheng Kuntheaborey.
Japan is one of the big donor countries who had contributed to Cambodia and hopes that more Japanese investors will invest in the country in the future, President Chea Sim was quoted as saying.
In reply, Mr. Takei Nobuyuki said the JC Foods has invested in agricultural field in Battambang province and brought in the new technology. Now the company has 230 hectares of rice paddy and the product is to be exported to foreign countries, he said.
The company plans to assist Cambodia in other fields, including in health care service as part of the promotion for a better of the people’s health, he said.
Mr. Takei Nobuyuki first met with the Senate President in late November 2009 and during the meeting he promised to bring in more Japanese investors to Cambodia. During the meeting last Friday, he took along with him several important investors including the JC Group Company President Mr. Ko Honam.--AKP
